About the Author

M. Scott Smallwood, a renowned author, was born Matthew Scott Smallwood in 1980 at the Fort Lewis Army base in Washington state, just a month before the catastrophic eruption of Mt. St. Helens. From age five, he was inclined towards various activities such as music, fine arts, and writing. However, among all his interests, he found writing his true calling and pursued it with great passion.

During the mid-1990s, M. Scott attended creative writing classes and wrote his first published short story. It earned him his first award and a public announcement in the local newspaper. He went on to write two more award-winning short stories and a theater script that received rave reviews. Nevertheless, his favorite form of writing was composing song lyrics.

M. Scott had already published three short stories, a novella, and two poetry compilations by 2000. Later in 2003, he moved to the New Orleans region, where he had the pleasure of meeting his beloved spouse.

Despite his continued work on song lyrics, he took a nearly two-decade break from writing stories. However, during the pandemic, he began crafting his first novel, Dreams of War, published in 2021. Since then, he has released three novels, including the award-winning The Wondrous Tale of the Mysterious Mystic, and numerous short stories, and has plans to publish The Tales of Thadius Might book series.
